YEAR 8 – FRENCH CAROUSEL LEARNING APPROACH

Year 8 students experienced the ‘Carousel’ method in their French lessons this week.

Carousel is a collaborative learning approach that requires movement, discussion, and thinking. It is an excellent way to include kinaesthetic learning into education, and provide students with a much-needed pause from sitting down.

Carousel is a brainstorming approach used to encourage students to learn new or review existing material by means of movement and reflection. Every station helps learners stimulate their prior learning, process new information and share it with their peers.

Form Group 8EN reviewed Carousel as follows:

  • It made us work together
  • It was fun and challenging
  • It was more exciting than writing in out books alone. This was a team effort.
  • It made us do a range of tasks including speaking, reading and writing in groups.
