Year 3 have been learning about fossils as part of our Science topic on Rocks. The girls heard all about Mary Anning and learnt that in her lifetime the study of fossils was still a very new field of ideas and theories. The fossils she found were very important to provide evidence for the ideas of the early palaeontologists. Some of these can be seen in the Natural History Museum. One student was very lucky to be taken to the Natural History Museum to follow up on the topic. Her mum was kind enough to share this message and photograph with us after their visit.
‘Just wanted to share this photo. We went to the Natural History Museum today and we spotted Mary Anning. My daughter was telling me what she had learnt in school about her.’
