The Tudor Day Experience

Park School for Girls was very excited to offer a Tudor Day for Years 6, 7 and 8 on Thursday 23rd February.

The girls had an opportunity to experience life as it would have been in a Tudor household in the year 1536. They were given an opportunity to use authentic tools and materials whenever possible and to learn skills in a wide variety of workshops.

During the morning there were eight activities taking place in the hall. These included, scent bag making, alchemy, soap making, chandlery, being a barber surgeon, working with leather, embroidery or painting miniatures. In the afternoon there was a banquet where the students also participated in dancing, singing, theatre and story-telling of the time.
Some of the girls have written their comments on the day and extracts are set out below.
