Last half term, Year 5 have been learning about Earth and Space and Materials and their properties.
On Thursday 21st October 2021, they had the opportunity to visit the Science Museum in London, to further enhance their learning.
They were able to explore space related exhibits including rockets and satellites, probes and landers and astronaut food. The students also learnt about worlds beyond Earth and the technology that has been developed to help us explore and survive in space.
The students experienced what life was like on an International Space Station through a 3D “A Beautiful Planet.”
The Great Object Hunt also allowed the students to explore the galleries and work together to find objects for each challenge and understand how science and technology has shaped our lives.
My favourite part of the trip was the 3D film “A Beautiful Planet”. After watching the film, I found out that living in space looks quite hard. I also found out that there is a new Earth-like planet called Kepler.
