On Monday, March 2nd, Mr Sfakianakis and I took Year 9 pupils to the Royal Academy Art Gallery in London.
Once there, we attended two wonderful Art workshops based on the techniques and ideas behind Pablo Picasso’s work with paper. Pupils folded, cut and manipulated paper led by some fantastic tutors and volunteers. They also took part in a discussion about Picasso’s Art work once they had been on a directed and very insightful tour of his work.
The girls’ second workshop involved the use of collage, cutting and drawing. I personally loved the enthusiastic way that the adults at the Gallery went on to discuss each piece of work in a detailed and interesting manner.
The exhibition of Picasso’s work was huge and comprised the vast majority of his styles. I would like to say well done to Year 9 and Hemma (Year 10) and Imaan (Year 11) for representing the school so beautifully.
