Why choose Park School for Girls

When it comes to your child’s education, choosing the right school can seem like an overwhelming task. The next stage is always in the back of your mind: where will they go after Nursery? Which Prep School would be best? And which Senior School can set them up for university success?

An all-through independent school is a brilliant option for parents looking for consistent, high-quality education for their child.

As the only all-through Independent Girls' School in Ilford, we are already a unique choice!

We welcome girls from all faiths and promote strong British Values as part of our teaching.  We empower girls to be the best they can be, and mould them into the strong and confident women of tomorrow!

Joining us in our Prep School (from Reception) will mean that your daughter will begin to experience a robust and stimulating learning experience, within a small and nurturing environment, from a very young age.  She will benefit from small class sizes, personalised learning and specialist teaching.  Tuition, specifically for 11+, is taught from Year 3.  She will be encouraged to develop a love of learning and to always achieve her potential.

Your daughter will naturally transition into our Senior School after Year 6, thus avoiding the stress and worry of having to get used to new environments, new friends and relationships, and losing that real sense of community. In addition, and probably most importantly, your daughter (and yourselves) will not have the added pressure of preparing for highly competitive common entrance exams, and the uncertainty of what the future holds in terms of secondary education.  The school and families can focus on what matters – providing your daughter with a well-rounded education – rather than revising for entrance exams; this also protects children from the emotional stress of having to take exams at a young age.

In our Senior School, girls also benefit from small class sizes, personalised learning and outstanding results at GCSE.  Pupils consistently over-perform in their GCSEs by over a whole grade, when compared to external baseline data.

Pupils leave Park at Year 11 to attend a wide range of top performing grammar and local independent schools.  They then move on to top universities and embark upon rewarding careers.

One of the most important things you can give your daughter is self-confidence and self-belief – qualities that girls’ schools deliver in abundance.

'From the moment I contacted the school to the day we went for a tour of the school, we were welcomed so warmly!  On our tour, we could see how polite and welcoming the staff and pupils were.  From what we could see of the pupils, they showed great behaviour during lessons and were all so focussed!  Mrs Redfern took the time to speak to us at length, and seemed to really care about the well-being and happiness of my daughter.  I am forever grateful to all members of staff who made my daughter's transition into Year 9 so smooth and comfortable.  My daughter is lucky and honoured to have such a wonderful array of teachers and to be a part of Park School for Girls.'                Parent - April 2022

Dear Mrs Islam, my name is AH.  I am not sure if you remember me, you taught me from Year 3 to 6.  I am emailing to thank you for everything you did for me and believing in me.  I am sitting my exams in a few weeks and whenever I feel worried, I remember what you always used to tell me "Believe in yourself, you are smart, don't let yourself down."  Every time I think of you saying that, it puts a smile on my face.  You never doubted or gave up on me and I will never be able to thank you enough!   Past pupil - April 2022
