Business Vision

Our Business course encourages pupils to think commercially and creatively about current issues facing real businesses and is a good introduction into the world of business. Through real-life case studies, pupils develop skills such as commercial awareness, team-working, communication and the ability to analyse and evaluate how different business situations affect the decisions businesses make.

AQA’s GCSE in Business is an up-to-date and engaging qualification that is relevant to the world of business today. This qualification equips learners with the skills and confidence to explore how different business situations affect business decisions. It is a well-rounded introduction to the subject. The qualification will encourage learners to make informed choices about a wide range of further learning opportunities and career pathways as well as develop life skills that enable them to become financially and commercially aware.

The subject content looks at:

· Business in the real world

· Influences on business

· Business operations

· Human resources

· Marketing

· Finance

Assessment is by examination taken at the end of Year 11.

There are two written exam papers.

Paper 1: Influences and HRM on business activity. I hour 45 minutes

Paper 2: Influences of marketing and finance on business activity.

Written exam, 1 hour 45 minutes

Style of Questions

Section A Has multiple choice questions and short answer questions worth 20 marks.

Section B Has one case study/data response stimuli with questions worth approximately 34 marks.

Section C Has one case study/data response stimuli with questions worth approximately 36 marks.
