GSCE Art trip to Natural History Museum

On Friday, 29th April, Year 10 Art GCSE pupils went to London for the day. We visited the Natural History Museum and the Victoria and Albert museum to collect research for the second coursework project ‘Past, Present and Future’.

We were also able to take photographs of architecture in London and the artist Dale Chihuly’s beautiful glass sculpture, ‘Rotunda Chandelier’ which adorns the entrance of the V & A.

We saw a variety of exhibits from dinosaur bones to fashion to religious icons. It was a fantastic day and the girls had the opportunity to respond to Edexcel’s assessment objective (AO3): Record ideas, observations and insights relevant to intentions as work progresses.

The resulting research will be presented in sketchbooks and marked as part of the Art GCSE coursework grade.
