National Gallery Trip

The students had a guided talk on the 19th century art movement – Impressionism.

It was a way to travel to France through paintings and discover what life was like in France at the time. Students also enjoyed the Spanish room of the National Gallery and were fortunate enough to see Gainsborough’s painting ‘The Bleu Boy’ on loan for a few weeks. This painting had not been seen in England for 100 years after being sold to an American business man in 1922!

We also took the opportunity to admire Vincent Van Gogh’s famous ‘sunflowers’ in real life. c’était une visite magnifique!
