The word science comes from the Latin word ‘scientia’, meaning “knowledge”. The knowledge taught to pupils is the result of Scientists questioning and investigating.
Science is what we do to find out about the natural world.
The Science department are very keen for pupils of all ages to get thinking like Scientists beyond the confines of the National Curriculum.
Posters have been placed around the school firstly to test their powers of observation and secondly, giving them a question to ‘Explorify’!
‘WHAT IF….. THE WIND DID NOT BLOW?’
Pupils have the opportunity to present their ideas and research in a creative way to Mrs Fernley by Monday 09 December 2019. Work may be presented for example as a comic strip, short story, newspaper article, poem or poster. There will be prizes to win.
The Science department will be setting other ‘Explorify’ questions in the future.
