Key Stage 2 and 3 pupils have risen to a challenge! They have each designed a stamp for a Royal Mail competition to honour their coronavirus hero or heroes. Here you can see a selection of those designs.
The girls chose a range of heroes ranging from public transport workers to vaccine scientists to food bank volunteers and more. They worked in a range of media from felt tip pen to watercolour or acrylic paint and had to think carefully about how their designs would look scaled down. We discussed colour schemes and composition whilst aiming to make use of focal points.
I wish the pupils luck. There are some awesome prizes on offer with the winner receiving £1000 in high street vouchers! The competition is run nationally, and I think we have a very good chance.
