Year 11 students from Park School for Girls celebrated today following news of their GCSE results.
Androulla Nicholas, Head Teacher of Park commented:
“I am delighted and very proud of the achievements of each individual student. I congratulate them all and feel confident that we have prepared them well for the future.”
The cohort of 17 Year 11 students excelled themselves across all subject areas. Almost 90% achieved 5 or more GCSEs at A* – C, 44% of all grades were A* – A and 55% A* -B. With the new grading of [9 – 1] for Mathematics 59% achieved 9 -7 [A* – A] and 70% achieved 9 – 6, [A* – B], for Language and Literature, almost 40% of students achieved 9 – 7 [A* – A], and 56% achieved 9 – 6 [A* – B].
Students performed well across all subjects areas with 100% success at A* – C /9 – 4, in the core subjects, including English Literature, Mathematics, French, ICT, Biology Chemistry, Physics; as well as in a range of optional subjects including Art, Geography, History, Music and PE. We have a dedicated and committed team of staff of whom we are very proud.
The students have epitomised the core values of the Park School Way, which are mutual respect; individuality and self-reliance; social responsibility; the enjoyment of education and a broad definition of success.
Some of the comments made by the students on results day reflect the nature of the school. One student who is going on to The City of London School for Girls said:
‘I have really enjoyed my time at Park; without this school I would not have become the person I am today or achieved what I did.’
Other comments included, ‘My experience at Park has been one I will never forget. It has made me the person I am today and has shaped my future. I long to look for a new school like Park.’
‘I love Park, it is warm and welcoming and the teachers always push your boundaries and it has paid off today. I am really glad it was this school I got to spend 5 years of my life in.’
We are very proud of our girls and wish them every success as they embark on the next stage of their careers.
