The students of Park School have produced some wonderful work as part of the creative writing module currently being taught by Mr Evans and I. Recently Year 9 students were asked to write a poem using Mary Elizabeth Coleridge’s poem, “The Deserted House” as inspiration. “The Solitary House” is written in the style of Coleridge’s nineteenth century poem while “The Unwanted House” adopts a more contemporary style.
Year 7 students, in turn, were challenged to produce an opening paragraph for a story with an eerie and unsettling atmosphere and I am sure you will agree that the opening paragraph included here certainly achieves this!
I hope you enjoy reading this small sample of some of the delightful work that students of Park School have completed in their English lessons.
