On the first Saturday of half term, an intrepid band of school staff got together to do something for BBC Children in Need, who support disadvantaged children and young people all across the UK. Fundraising enables them to change almost half a million lives across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland every single year.
Inspired by this cause, we decided to have a Park School Staff Ramble around Wanstead Park. We were extremely lucky with the weather and enjoyed bright autumn sunshine the whole way round. We had three generations with us – Mrs Wright’s daughters and Madame Bianchi’s daughter and grandson came along to lend their support. The park was a fabulous venue, which was new to some of our group, and Mrs Polnarev successfully guided us around the lakes. We walked for about two hours and rounded it off with a hot chocolate!
We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and are absolutely delighted that through activity we have been able to raise £500 to date. Thank you very much indeed to all those who donated! Perhaps it will become an annual event.
