Celebrating World Book Day

On Thursday 29th April, our Prep girls celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as our favourite book characters.   We had West End in schools come in and do a drama workshop with us for world book day. Reception to Year 4 had a workshop using the story ‘The Gruffalo’ by Julia Donaldson. The girls thoroughly enjoyed the workshop. “It was so much fun” said the Reception/Year 1 girls. “I loved being the mouse and the gruffalo” they said. “I enjoyed making my forest scene” said Year 2.

Year 5 also enjoyed their workshop on Oliver Twist. They re-enacted the stories through dance, pretended they were some of the characters and everyone had the opportunity to participate in some way.

Here’s what some of the girls in Year 5 had to say about the workshops

“It was a fun way of learning about the story of Oliver Twist”.
“I had fun and enjoyed the activities we did during the workshop”.
“I really enjoyed acting out the story of Oliver Twist”
