On the 14th February, all of our Year 8 and 9 students went to the British Film Institute to take part in the ‘KS3 Spanish Study Day’.
During the first part of the day, we watched and analysed three short films, using Spanish vocabulary. After lunch we watched a Spanish film for children ‘Zipi y Zape y el Club de la Canica’ (Zip and Zap and the Marble Gang). The story of two naughty twins, one with blond hair and the other with black hair, who as a punishment spend the summer in a strict re-education centre run by a mean Head Teacher.
We had a good day and the students really enjoyed the film and learnt about the Spanish culture. Extracts from some of their reports are set out below.
‘The thing I like about the Spanish trip is that I liked the Spanish movie and how they taught us new things’
‘When we got to the Spanish cinema, I sat down with my friends and I enjoyed learning about Spanish and then we watched a Spanish movie which was very fun and happy’
‘I think that the trip was very good because it was very interactive. The movie was very interesting. I was happy when I sat with my friends’ (Anjelee)
‘I think that the trip was quite good, as we got to learn some new Spanish vocabulary, and also watched a Spanish movie, which was also quite interesting. Although the trip was fun, the journey was exhausting, as we walked a lot’
