Senior School Fees for 2017-2018
To secure an offer of a place at Park School for Girls, a deposit of £1,000 is payable to the school on acceptance of a place and prior to a pupil’s entry; once a pupil starts, £500 of the bond will be deducted from the fees of the first term. The remaining £400 will be retained until your daughter leaves the school, which is refundable subject to no debts outstanding. £100 constitutes the Registration and Administration fee.
PAYMENT OF FEES
School fees are payable termly in advance.
Senior School fees from September 2017 are as follows:
- Years 7-9 = £3,290 per term
- Years 10-11 = £3,320 per term
Fees are invoiced termly and are payable on the first working day of each term.
Fees can be paid by:
- Cheque which should be made payable to ‘Park School for Girls’.
- Debit card or Credit card, either in person or via telephone (please note that a small charge of 1.6% for payments by credit card is made. (Amex 2.0%). There is no charge for payment by debit card.
- On-line banking, you can transfer the sum due directly into the school bank account (details available from the Bursar). This is our preferred way, as its quick, easy, safe – and free!
Please note that we cannot accept payment of fees in cash.
Discounts are available for fees paid in advance.
We appreciate that finding the money for a full terms fees can be difficult and offer a variety of payment methods including the option of a monthly standing order.
The scheme works like this:
There is no joining fee, the following monthly payment must be made by 14th of each month.
- Years 7-9 = £828
- Years 10-11 = £835
Terms and Conditions for monthly payments
You can sign up at any time, but the first payment for the Autumn Term is due in the July preceding the next academic year. If you wish to commence monthly payment for the Spring Term, the first payment is due in November, and for the Summer Term, the first payment is due in March.
You need set the standing order up with your bank in person or via Internet banking. The same amount will be taken from your bank account each month.
Payments for the academic year 2017 – 18 will start by 14th July 2017, and the year finishes on 14th June 2018. Parents will then be invited to sign up for a further 12 months.
If you decide to join the scheme after 14th July, you will be required make any payments needed to bring you up to date. For example, if you sign up on 5th September, you will be required to make the monthly payments for July, August and September immediately.
Any questions relating to the payment of fees should be addressed to the Bursar.
Senior school students will also be required to purchase the essential text books for their studies. These can be obtained at a discount by the school and are billed separately.
Should a standing order be returned unpaid, an administration charge of £30 will become payable, and you will be required to make up the payment within 7 days. Payments made after 14th of each month a subject to a £20 late payment fee.
Should more than 2 standing order payments be returned within the same year, you will forfeit your right to use this facility.
Please be assured that details of your payment history will only be known to the Bursar and Head Teacher, however, your daughter’s place at the school is in jeopardy if you fail to meet your contractual obligations with respect to payment of fees.
The school also offers discounts to Parents who wish to pay a year’s fees in advance.
Fees are reviewed annually and generally increased with effect from each Autumn Term. Parents are notified at the beginning of the Summer Term, and are invited to pay any number of terms in advance by 14th July to secure these at the pre increase rate.
For families with 2 daughters, we offer 5% discount against the younger sister’s fees. For families with 3 or more daughters at the school, a discount of 15% will be applied against the fees of the youngest student for the period of time three sisters are at school
If you recommend a friend to start at Park School, you will receive a credit note of £250 to be used towards your fees, once the friend has started a second term at the school
The Bursar will be happy to answer any questions concerning fees.
Each year there are some Bursaries available to students in Year 3-11. The Bursary will be up to 25% of the fees payable and must be applied for by forwarding the application to the School with appropriate supporting documentation. The Bursary must be applied for annually. The sum awarded is directly related to parental income.
The Canon Holmes Memorial Trust offers small grants to parents who have initially been able to pay school fees satisfactorily but who subsequently experience financial difficulty as a result of illness, death of a parent(s) or family breakdown. In cases of genuine financial difficulty, we will try to assist but it is important that you contact the Bursar or Head Teacher immediately and keep us informed.
INCLUDED IN THE SCHOOL FEES
Fees include tuition, the use of some text and library books, stationery and scientific materials and use of games facilities.
Senior school students are required to purchase essential textbooks, obtained by the school at a discount and billed separately.
NOT INCLUDED IN THE SCHOOL FEES
SCHOOL TRIPS/FIELD STUDY COURSES
Throughout the academic year, trips and courses, which are of benefit to the pupils’ education, are arranged and attendance is compulsory. The payment for any school trip is paid for by the parents.
Parents are responsible for the payment of fees for any public examinations taken by their daughters. The Examination Fee is £50
INDIVIDUAL TUITION IN A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT
Tuition is available in piano, violin and woodwind instruments. Lessons are given on an individual basis weekly, during term time. They are scheduled on a rota basis during the school day. Parents whose daughters receive music tuition are billed on a separate basis to school fees.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUB
After school club runs every evening from 3.30 to 5.00pm allowing students of all ages to wait in a warm supervised environment where they may read or do homework or private study. The cost is £7.50 per night and includes a drink and snack. Students may attend on an ad-hoc basis, once a week, or every night as required.
NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL
A TERM’S NOTICE OF WITHDRAWL OF A PUPIL FROM THE SCHOOL MUST BE GIVEN IN WRITING TO THE HEAD TEACHER.
Acknowledgement must be received from the School, or a term’s fee in lieu is payable.
This means that you must give notice by the first day of the term if you wish to withdraw your daughter at the end of that term.
The situation is different when a child moves from the Reception to Year 6 to the Senior School. Notice of leaving must be received by the date stipulated when results of the Entrance Examination into the Senior School are published. This will be a minimum of 14 days after notification of results.
