Admission Procedure

To register your daughter for our entrance examination the registration form must be completed and returned to the school office with a copy of your daughter’s birth certificate and £40 cheque or cash. Reception and Pre- Prep children will be invited in for a short assessment which usually takes place on the first Saturday morning in February.  This will last for approximately 20 minutes. If your daughter is entering into our Preparatory Department your cheque will be acknowledged by letter and entrance examination details will follow in early January. Secondary School girls will receive an invitation to spend a ‘taster’ day at school. They will then be asked to attend an interview with the headteacher also held during the school day. This usually takes place before the entrance exam which is on the first Saturday morning in February. Entrance examinations for the whole school consist of a Maths and English test. We follow National Curriculum standards in both English and Maths. The English Examination will always include comprehension. Results are posted out by 1st class mail the Friday after the examination. If your daughter has been successful you will receive a contract to sign and return to the school along with a £500 cheque for the Security Deposit. This secures your daughter’s place at the school and is non returnable under any circumstances. £400 of this Security Deposit is returnable (subject to all other debts to the School being settled) when your daughter leaves the School, and the £100 balance of the Security Deposit will be retained by the School for registration and administration charges. The terms fees are due by the first day of the school term. We offer two Bursaries; one for Secondary School and one for Preparatory School. Each is worth 25% of your daughter’s school fees. If you would like to apply for this there is a form available from the School Office. Whether you are successful in obtaining a Bursary is dependent on your daughter doing well in her exams. The Bursary is also means tested annually.
